China is taking huge strides to improve the environment. In partnership with The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), Picturelab created a series of informational videos demonstrating the steps China is taking to create a healthier environment for its citizens.
This includes developing infrastructure to support the prevalence of electric vehicles. China has also enacted new policies to reduce carbon emissions. By 2060, China hopes to be a leader in the use of sustainable energy and clean transportation.
Working closely with ICCT’s scientists and engineers, our creative team developed designs that accurately reflected the science but also maintained a clean and engaging look. Leveraging 2D animation, we were able to effectively convey complex concepts in a way that was simple and easy to understand.
We were also tasked to localize the video for a Mandarin-speaking audience. We sourced a Chinese voice actor and an editor who was able to caption in Mandarin. Our animators also updated on-screen English text to Chinese.
Overall, the project took about eight weeks, a little longer than what a 2D video normally takes, but everyone was happy with the final product.
After completing this MVAC video, we produced several additional videos for ICCT, including a video that demonstrates China’s clean diesel policy and technology, and new fast battery-swapping infrastructure for electric taxis and commercial trucks.
In addition to this Mandarin-localized video, we have created content for videos for audiences all over the world. This includes videos in Korean, Spanish and French.
