Our Favorite Commercials from 2010
Despite all the digital content we produce now here at Picturelab, we still love the good ol’ commercial. For a creative video production company, there’s nothing like putting together our Don Draper pitches, getting the crew and cast together, going on location and seeing it all come together in post. The scope and excitement of producing a commercial is really why we love what we do.
It’s hard to believe, but we’ve been making commercials for over a dozen years. During that time, we’ve worked for some of the most exciting brands and products. We’ve had a chance to do both emotional pieces as well as downright hilarious. Our dream is to someday work on a Super Bowl commercial – hopefully in the ‘20s!
To celebrate this past decade of success, we’ve put together a list of our favorite commercials. As a full-service company, we did everything – concepts, scripts, production and post.
eSignal: Home of Successful Traders and Trade Smarter (National Broadcast)
Picturelab, and our sister company, Transvideo, worked on eSignal’s campaign early in the 2010s. The objective was to demonstrate to a national audience the intuitiveness of eSignal’s platform. These commercials aired on CNBC, CNN and MSNBC.
The Inheritance Company (Regional Broadcast)
Something we don’t think about until it happens is the inheritance process when a loved one passes. We don’t realize it’s a headache and the last thing we want to deal with when we’re in mourning. The Inheritance Company wanted to make sure their audiences in the Southeast were aware of how they could help during these difficult times. We made this commercial that was both thoughtful and informative.
Personal Capital: Future Selfish – Long Version (National Broadcast)
We love humor and this was not only one of our favorite commercials last decade, but also one of our favorite projects overall. The objective was to show how Personal Capital could help manage retirement and finances so that we don’t cheat our future. Featuring a great cast and a top-notch crew, including local legend DP, Art Adams, the piece was a big hit for our team. Here is the full length. The video was also cut to 30 seconds.
Sift Science: Trust Platform (Web)
What do we love as much as humor? Dancing and musicals. This commercial for Sift also had some nifty parkour moves. We shot this at historical Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles with a fantastic group of dancers and actors. One of our favorite commercial shoots in the latter half of the decade.
Exaclyme (Web)
We love to party and this shoot was all about partying. At the beach, at a club, at the food trucks…enjoy life! Exaclyme was a new app for people to share what works and doesn’t work for them. Our goal was to create a fun and hip lifestyle video featuring beautiful people using the product.
Stitcher (Web)
Shot with multiple actors at many different locations, this video was one of the more interesting commercials we shot this past decade.
